“ I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD,
who made heaven and earth.” – Psalm 121

We memorized the whole chapter and prayed it almost daily in school in Dominica.

In my youth, I didn’t understand it’s full meaning, now that I’m older, I’m fully aware of its significance.

It is a reminder that there is a place of peace and rest that we can turn to in the midst of a hard season.

Life is a journey of unexpected joys and sorrows and God is here for it all. Nothing catches him off the guard. He’s not stunned by the things that leave us speechless. He is a place of peace and rest.

Be at peace to you who are hurting. Find rest from the turmoil and pain of the past.

Expanded Mission

December 1, 2018 By TheVillageLady Leave a Comment

The initial mission at Carried To Full Term was to provide housing and to help mothers become independent and self-sufficient. Along the way, we observed patterns that needed to be broken. As a result, the mission was broadened to include breaking cycles of poverty.  The task is broader, and the mission is greater but we believe the effort is worth improving the lives of our families and future generations.

I am reminded of the verse in Ephesians that says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” The support from our community, churches, and friends, allows the work of stabilizing and protecting families from abandonment and homelessness to continue. I am thankful to God for his favor and the support and growth experienced throughout the years.

Saying Thank You

April 26, 2018 By TheVillageLady Leave a Comment

The art of gratitude begins by saying thank you. Thank you may seem small but it is always well received when expressing thanks to those who serve to create positive change within the community.
